I was laying in bed last night remembering our little house in Scotland. The place was infested with scorpions. I was remembering the mother's day morning, I was pregnant with Mason, alseep in bed, and got stung on the foot. I had lived there a year without getting stung. Our bedroom seem to have the most scorpions. We couldn't leave clothes on the floor, had to check our shoes before putting them on, had to lift our pillows and sheets before getting into bed. It was crazy! We sprayed chemical every month and still had problems.! Looking back I'm surprised I lived there as long as I did!
I loved that little house though. It was out in the middle of a bunch of stinky dairies. We'd sit outside at night staring at the stars. So peaceful. Well most the time. There was the time I ran outside in my sleep shirt with my 16 gauge shotgun to kill the huge rattlesnake in my front yard. I shot it 3 times. Mike said it was overkill. I said you can never be too sure with a rattlesnake.
Then there was the time the rabid skunk camped out by my kitchen door and I couldn't leave the house. Eventually he took off down the driveway and I killed it too with my 16 gauge shotgun. (Mike was never home for these fun times.) Then there was the time the neighbor down the road called and asked me to come get our lab, Jack, out of his nasty holding tank cause he was stirring up his milk cows. Had to put a huge, wet, nasty, dog in the back of my explorer and haul him home. Oh, and when I was 8 months pregnant with Mason, eating a steak and potato in my living room floor, and the baby mouse ran across my leg. Awww, the good times. I do miss that house though. That was our first home together.
